The position will be responsible for performing detailed program design, coding, testing, documentation, and implementation of software to enhance operations and data quality, and correct deficiencies in the Institute’s software architecture. The position also requires the successful applicant to maintain the Institute’s website as well as perform basic graphics designs.
i. Write new code using prescribed specifications and design documentation in accordance with programming standards for effective and efficient operations that will drive the vision of the Institute.
ii. Modify, test, and troubleshoot existing programs/software utilizing the appropriate hardware, database, and development/programming technology.
iii. Analyze end-user data and business needs to format the final product and ensure user orientation and optimization of program/system performance.
iv. Support the installation planning for application program requirements.
v. Support the end-user and technical operations staff as required.
vi. Build functional and easy-to-use websites.
vii. Test websites across browsers, operating systems, and devices
viii. Maintain, configure, and troubleshoot servers.
ix. Ensure site security by setting up firewalls and access controls.
x. Debug pages and fix broken links or images.
xi. Update website content periodically and review SEO
xii. Monitor and analyze site performance (e.g. traffic, conversions)
xiii. Create and design various communication materials for print and digital collateral.
xiv. Perform any other duty assigned by the Head of ICT Department or his/her representative.
i. Ability to programme in the following languages/frameworks required: JavaScript, PHP, SQL, HTML, CSS.
ii. Knowledge in any of the following languages/frameworks will be an added advantage: React JS, Laravel, Java, Kotlin, ASP.NET, Vue is, Flash, jQuery, Angular/Angular js, Dango, Python
iii.Knowledgeable in Microsoft Office, Adobe, and Google Suites.
iv. Basic knowledge of hardware and networking

The Senior IT Assistant shall be appointed on contract for a period of one (1) year. The appointment may be renewed.
