The School of Languages has since the inception of the Institute carried out its original mandate of teaching international languages to enhance Pan-Africanism and cordial relationship between Ghanaians and other nationals. The languages currently taught are Arabic, Chinese, English, French, German, Portuguese, Russian and Spanish.
The School of Translators is headed by a Head of School. It offers Bachelor of Arts degree courses in translation. The Department of English therefore handles all the English courses in the school as follows:

To accelerate increase in enrollment, the Department has presently engaged in aggressive development of programmes. The objective of this is to introduce a number of programmes in addition to what we already have. Presently, we are rounding off the development of BA English, BA English and French, BA English and Arabic, BA English and Spanish etc. The target enrolment figure for next academic year is 500 students in level 100 at the School of Translation.
